• Ensure a safe and secure environment for the DWP staff, visitors and property.
• Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
• Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors with security‑related matters.
• Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures and regulations.

• Look out for and immediately report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
• Use common sense and initiative by involving others if a situation appears threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
• Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident, which is then used as part of the Incident Report process.
• Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

• Previous security experience.
• DS Licence required.
