Locum Children & Families Social Worker

Duns (1 vacancy) & Hawick (1 vacancy)
Rate: £25–£40 per hour

We are currently recruiting two experienced Locum Children & Families Social Workers to join supportive and well‑established teams in Duns and Hawick. These are excellent opportunities for practitioners seeking stability, manageable caseloads, and a positive multi‑agency working environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake assessments of need and risk

* Develop and review outcome‑focused care and protection plans

* Carry out child protection work, including Section 47 enquiries and core groups

* Work directly with children, young people, and families

* Maintain clear, accurate, and timely case records

* Participate in team meetings, multi‑agency discussions, and supervision

Requirements

* Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, BA/MA Social Work or equivalent)

* SSSC registration

* Experience with in Children & Families statutory services

* Strong assessment, report‑writing, and communication skills

* Ability to manage your caseload effectively

* Enhanced PVG (or willingness to undertake one)
