Affinity Flying Services plays a vital role in supporting UK military air capability, ensuring the seamless progression of pilots through their training journey. As part of a landmark partnership with the Ministry of Defence, we supply and maintain three aircraft fleets to deliver Elementary and Multi-Engine Flying Training within the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS).
We’re now looking for a Flight Line Mechanic to join our dynamic team at RAF Valley
. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where you’ll be at the heart of flight line operations — supporting aircraft departures, arrivals, and turnarounds with precision and care.
- Safely marshalling, towing, and brake riding Texan aircraft between hangar and flight line
- Preparing aircraft for departure and supporting aircrew during handover
- Performing turnaround and arrival procedures including chocking and securing aircraft
- Operating Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and completing safety inspections
- Acting as a flight line safety walker to ensure safe aircraft movements
- Staying up to date with safety bulletins and reporting through AEMS
- Promoting a strong safety culture and supporting continuous improvement
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow procedures and work calmly in safety‑critical environments
- Technically competent with great attention to detail
- GCSE‑level education
- Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain UK security clearance
- Experience in aviation or similar fast‑paced technical environments
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a technical discipline
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and aviation standards

Security Clearance RequirementPlease note that the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. This includes:
- Identity verification (e.g., passport or driving licence)

- Employment history check covering the past 3 years
- Criminal record check
