Are you a highly motivated and driven individual who can multitask and work on your own initiative? This role presents an exciting opportunity to join an established Customs Department within HANNON Transport, gaining expertise in a high-growth, highly regulated sector and becoming an integral part of one of Irelands leading logistics companies.
You will work closely with internal teams, customers, hauliers, ferry operators, and regulatory authorities to ensure the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders. A key focus is supporting European Transit (T2) movements crossing the GB landbridge.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinating customs transit documentation for EU-origin goods moving via Great Britain.
- Managing SPS‑controlled consignments, including preparation and submission of CHEDs, health documentation, and pre‑notifications to competent authorities.
- Ensuring alignment between transit documents, commercial paperwork, and SPS declarations to avoid delays, inspections, or penalties.
- Monitoring movements through ports and Border Control Posts to ensure compliance and timely release.
- Computerised data entry into bespoke customs software packages (Traces Trader Support Service, Thyme IT).
- Ensuring compliance with all customs procedures by properly documenting and controlling mandatory customs functions.
- Liaising with various stakeholders throughout the customs process to ensure efficient transport of goods.
- Completing a unique customs training program to enhance expertise.
- Working as part of a dynamic Customs Department to meet tight deadlines.
- Other tasks include query resolution, month‑end reporting and general administrative tasks.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grade C (Maths & English).
- ICT experience (Microsoft Packages).
- Ability to multi‑task, work as part of a team, and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills.
- Previous customs‑related experience preferable but not essential.
- 1 year experience working in a fast‑paced logistics office environment.
- Full training provided, including structured support on customs systems, transit procedures, and SPS requirements.
- Flexibility with working patterns required to meet time‑critical cross‑border logistics demands.
