What does a Social Worker do at Hillingdon?

No two days are the same for a social worker. Seeing children, supporting parents, arranging meetings, whilst always working in a child centred manner. Safeguarding is always our priority and we are proud to provide an OUTSTANDING service to children and young people in Hillingdon.

About you

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic newly qualified social workers who are looking to start their careers in a OUTSTANDING local authority. Hillingdon children’s services are embarking on a journey to becoming a trauma informed service and we need social workers who have insight and dedication to join us.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regular supervision, guidance and support to approved foster carers.
  • Complete statutory visits, annual foster carer reviews and quality assessments.
  • Safeguard children by identifying and responding to risk, concerns and allegations.
  • Contribute to placement stability, matching and support planning.
  • Maintain accurate, timely case recording and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with children’s social workers, partner agencies and fostering panel.
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in fostering practice.
  • Participate in out‑of‑hours duty and rotas as required.
