As a Housing Needs & Prevention Officer, you’ll be at the frontline of tackling homelessness and housing challenges. You’ll provide expert advice, carry out detailed assessments, and develop tailored housing plans that change lives.

Your work will include:
  • Delivering high-quality housing options advice under the Homelessness Reduction Act.
  • Creating innovative prevention strategies to keep people in their homes.
  • Working collaboratively with partners across social care, health, and the voluntary sector.
  • Managing complex caseloads with empathy, professionalism, and determination.
  • Driving continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, homelessness prevention, and welfare benefits.
  • Experience in housing advice or homelessness services within a local authority or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills—you’ll be confident, compassionate, and solutions-focused.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment where your decisions matter.
  • Ambitious and talented individuals with good qualifications and relevant experience in other fields will also be considered.
