Onsite Cost Accountant

Job Title: Onsite Cost Accountant Job : 66837 Location: Vancouver, British Columbia Overview: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their team. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze costs, prepare budget reports, and ensure cost-effective operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.

What you will be doing:

• Analyze and reconcile cost discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and maintain cost reports and budget forecasts.
• Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to reduce expenses.
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes related to costs and inventory.
• Collaborate with procurement and production teams to review and analyze cost variances.
• Develop and monitor internal control procedures related to cost accounting.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as required by management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required and must have a CMA or CPA or close to completing their CPA designation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience as a Cost Accountant in a similar role recently
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
