As Senior Accountant
, you will own the day-to-day accuracy and integrity of Uplifter's financials
. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail while helping improve processes in a growing SaaS + payments environment.
You will work closely with the Senior FP&A Lead and leadership to ensure the books are clean, reliable, and decision-ready.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Own monthly close process end-to-end (timelines, checklist, accuracy, sign-off)
- Manage accounting integrity: accruals, deferrals, prepaid expenses, GL quality
- Lead revenue recognition processes and consistency across SaaS + transactions + payments
- Own balance sheet reconciliations and support audit readiness
- Own internal controls and approvals process (spend controls, policies, compliance)
- Coordinate key workflows: billing tools, payroll inputs, expense management
- Manage the bookkeeper (if in-house) or manage the outsourced bookkeeping firm
- Work closely with FP&A to ensure reporting ties out and forecasts reflect reality
- Ensure clean consolidation and reporting across entities as required
- Support external tax partners with clean schedules, reconciliations, and year-end deliverables
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Burnaby/ Greater Vancouver area
, with flexibility to work remotely one day a week.
- 4–8+ years of accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, subscription, or transaction-based businesses
- Hands‑on experience with Quick Books Online (QBO) — required
- Strong ownership of month‑end close and reconciliations
- Solid understanding of revenue recognition and recurring revenue models
- Comfort working in a scaling, fast‑moving environment
- High attention to detail with a practical, problem‑solving mindset
- Ability to partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, operations, and leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- Truly hands‑on ownership of the books
- Exposure to SaaS and high‑volume payments complexity
- Close partnership with FP&A and executive leadership
