As part of a growth‑oriented pre‑construction department, the Estimator will manage cost estimates for our diverse pipeline of projects. The Estimator will partner with pre‑construction specialists and construction teams to deliver best‑in‑class services.

• Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications, identifying and quantifying all necessary materials, equipment, and labour required for the assigned project.
• Collaborate with peers in estimating, virtual construction and project management to form a value‑add pre‑construction team.
• Create detailed and accurate cost estimates while continuing to learn and master construction fundamentals.
• Review designs to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for cost efficiencies.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, construction materials, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes that may impact project costs.
• Complete project scope of work reviews to ensure completeness of estimates, and verify that all technical specifications, subcontractor scopes and general condition items have been quantified and costed.

The ideal Estimator at Axiom Builders is someone who has been an estimator, cost consultant or quantity surveyor and you’re looking to leverage your experience with an established general contractor that takes a relationship‑based approach to setting our projects up for success. You are detail‑oriented, highly analytical, and numbers‑driven. • At least 3–5 years of experience working on projects within a GC or similar business.
• Certificate, diploma or degree in Building Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology or a related field.
• Knowledge of trade practices, market conditions and building materials.
• Experience and comfort working with on‑screen takeoff tools and Excel.
• High level of attention to detail to drive accuracy and consistency throughout your work.
• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of employees and owners, architects and subtrades.
