Site Superintendent – Commercial Project (Lower Mainland)

Match Box Consulting Group is seeking a Site Superintendent to lead, direct, and coordinate the work of subcontractors and laborers for a commercial construction project in the Lower Mainland. This leadership position is responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the construction site, ensuring safe field operations, strong company culture, and progress toward project objectives.

• Provide safety leadership by implementing the Safety Program and monitoring safety performance of field staff and subcontractors.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with field staff and subcontractors to promote positive morale.
• Supervise and develop the site team through regular feedback, training, coaching, and timely performance evaluations.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the project schedule.
• Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions, and change notices to ensure proper execution.
• Identify design deficiencies, schedule interruptions, or other project issues and work collaboratively with the Project Manager to resolve them.
• Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance regarding safety and scope of work.
• Ensure adequate manpower to meet safety, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Maintain daily paperwork, including field reports, safety inspections, and schedule updates.
• Prepare and maintain construction schedules, identify and solve problems.
• Operate within a specified budget.
• Order materials throughout the project to maintain schedule and productivity.
• Understand project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
• Know building codes for the Province of Employment.
• Schedule installs for utility service companies.
• Conduct daily site reviews of all work completed to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Maintain high workmanship quality and hold sub‑contractors accountable.
• Assist with training field personnel.
• Address grievance and general site labor issues.

• Progressive experience as a Superintendent in multi‑family and commercial construction.
• Trades background in carpentry and/or Gold Seal Certification considered an asset.
• Excellent supervision, coordination, and scheduling skills to consistently deliver projects on time, on budget, and to client satisfaction.
• Strong leadership, field management, and problem‑solving skills that foster collaboration and results.
• Service‑oriented mindset with the ability to build trust with a broad network of professionals, subcontractors, and team members.
• Demonstrated competence in safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.
• Sound knowledge of construction, building techniques, and the ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
