Starboard Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is searching for an experienced Cloud Architect. Opportunity is with a global tech company servicing the mining space with Canadian offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.

In this role, you will:- Assess emerging concepts in modern cloud architecture, best practices, and technologies, and determine their applicability within the company.
- Recommend architectural patterns and technical solutions that align with the strategic direction of the Global Architecture team.
- Review product team architectures and APIs to ensure consistency with the company’s overall vision.
- Explore and evaluate technology options to determine their suitability for adoption across the company.
- Collaborate with fellow members of the Global Architecture Team to shape architectural possibilities.
- Clearly articulate the company’s architectural strategy and vision to both technical and non-technical audiences within the company.
- Explain the reasoning behind architectural choices and build alignment across teams.
- Partner with assigned product teams to drive architectural and technical consistency.
- Engage with customers and partners to support platform-level technology integrations with the company.
- Contribute to the team’s architectural documentation.
- 5+ years of experience as an architect (or equivalent) at one or more large-scale SaaS organizations or a cloud hyperscaler.
- At least 5 additional years of experience as a software developer (or equivalent role).
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills at the platform or systems architecture level.
- Proven experience improving scalability, reliability, and performance in cloud environments.
- A track record of developing, documenting, and communicating an architectural strategy for a global, cloud-based SaaS platform.
- This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to be in-office at least two days per week.
