Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join a dynamic group of 34 academic Radiologists providing general and subspecialty diagnostic and interventional radiological services to the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and the University of British Columbia (UBC) Hospital.
All applicants must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), have completed Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology (IR), and be eligible for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. All applicants must also be currently certified by, or eligible for certification by, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful applicant will be located at VGH and UBC Hospitals.
We are seeking an academically oriented Interventional Radiologist with a strong interest and experience in research and teaching. Clinical work involves full participation in a large dynamic interventional radiology service with a broad spectrum of procedures including all visceral, central and peripheral arterial and venous interventions as well as gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, hepatobiliary and genitourinary interventions. The service is also based on a strong clinical foundation with the successful applicant expected to fully participate in patient consultation and pre and post procedure management in an IR clinic environment in collaboration with a robust supportive allied health care team.
Fellowship training and significant relevant clinical experience are required in the following: interventional oncology including chemoembolization, radioembolization, visceral thermal ablation and complex biopsy; central and peripheral venous diagnostic and reconstructive procedures including thrombolysis and thrombectomy, pulmonary thrombolysis and thrombectomy, peripheral and visceral arterial intervention; TEVAR and other aortic interventions; and reproductive interventions including gonadal vein embolization and Fallopian tubal canulation.. The successful candidate must possess a working and current fund of knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, workup, management and performance of all procedures related to vascular anomalies.
The position also involves performing pain management and spinal injection procedures with experience in complex musculoskeletal interventions being highly desirable. The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating practice that includes vascular CT, MR, and US imaging in the setting of quaternary care and Level 1 Trauma Centre.
