We are looking for a Robotics Technician to join our team based in Vancouver, CA.

The Role

We are on a mission to redefine humanoid robotics by creating hands that mimic human dexterity, precision, and flexibility. As a Robotics Hand Technician
, you will play a key role in assembling, testing, and validating cutting-edge robotic hands and grippers for our humanoid robots. This position requires strong technical expertise in robotic assembly, sensor calibration, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers to troubleshoot and optimize robotic hand systems. What

You’ll Do
  • Assemble and integrate robotic hands and end-effectors, ensuring all components (actuators, sensors, and mechanical parts) function correctly together.
  • Perform rigorous testing to evaluate the performance, dexterity, and precision of robotic hands. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware and software integration.
  • Calibrate sensors, actuators, and tactile arrays to achieve optimal performance, focusing on precision and reliability in hand movements.
  • Assist the R&D team in prototyping new robotic hand designs by providing feedback, assembling prototypes, and testing new components.
  • Provide hands-on support for mechanical and electrical engineers in integrating sensors, actuators, and control systems into robotic hands.
  • Document test results, system issues, failure analyses, and corrective actions. Create technical manuals and maintenance guides for robotic hand systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on robotic hands, ensuring continuous improvements in performance and durability.
  • Work closely with the mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams to address issues related to dexterity, grip strength, and sensor feedback.
  • Maintain specialized tools, equipment, and components. Ensure that inventory levels of critical parts such as actuators and sensors are regularly checked and replenished.
What We Look For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting robotic systems, with a focus on precision mechanics and sensor integration.

    Skills:
  • 1. Strong proficiency in assembling robotic hands and integrating complex mechanical and electronic systems.
  • 2. Hands-on experience with fine-pitch soldering, micro-wiring, and assembly techniques.
  • 3. Familiarity with calibrating actuators, sensors, and control systems in robotic applications.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues and implement corrective actions efficiently.
  • High attention to detail in handling delicate components and ensuring precise assembly of complex systems.
Nice To Have
  • Background in humanoid robot development, particularly in hand/arm systems or robotic manipulation.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printing, CNC machining, or laser cutting for robotic hand components.
  • Familiarity with tactile sensors, force sensors, and other sensory technologies used in robotic hands.
  • Knowledge or experience in designing for human-robot interaction, especially in contexts where robots need to handle delicate or interactive tasks.
  • Experience working with specialized robotic testing equipment and tools, such as precision measuring instruments and test rigs.
