Our Energy subsector, a key component of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Process Engineer to join our team located in our offices in British Columbia.
What you can expect to do here- Conduct process simulations using appropriate software to optimize system performance and efficiency.
- Determine appropriate sizes for equipment based on process requirements and prepare detailed data sheets for each piece of equipment.
- Perform calculations to determine optimal sizes for process lines, considering flow rate, pressure drop and temperature.
- Prepare data sheets for instruments, including specifications, operating conditions and maintenance requirements.
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) to represent material flow through the process.
- Mark up Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to reflect changes in the process or equipment.
- Conduct studies to understand and improve the process, analyze data, identify bottlenecks and propose solutions.
- Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies to identify and evaluate potential hazards.
- Review vendor drawings to ensure they meet process requirements.
- Take charge of smaller projects or support Area Lead on larger projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry as a process engineer, preferably with gas processing plant experience.
- P.Eng licensed.
- Ability to work in a team environment at an intermediate level and develop your skills.
- Strong communication and report‑writing skills.
- Organized, focused on quality, schedule and budget.
Salary range (British Columbia): $82,900 – $114,000 (may vary based on experience, qualifications, location and business needs).
