Project
The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.
Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.
Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Specialist to join our project controls team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reviewing subcontractor costs, with specific expertise in Time & Material (T&M) contract structures. This role involves validating cost submissions, ensuring compliance with contract terms, identifying cost inefficiencies, and supporting commercial negotiations on projects across Canada.

Requirements
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost engineering or quantity surveying with a strong focus on subcontractor cost reviews under T&M contracts.
- Solid understanding of Canadian construction cost norms and contract structures.
- Familiarity with labor agreements, equipment rate books, and typical T&M claim components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must; experience with cost management systems (e.g., SAP, Prism, or similar) is an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset.
- Accepts responsibility and demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of tasks and targets.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and change priorities within tight time frames.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Expertise with a variety of computer programs (e.g., Office 365, MS teams, MS Visio, MS Projects, Teams, Adobe Acrobat, Docu Sign etc.)
- Motivated and willing to take ownership of tasks.
- Energetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processes.
- Shares knowledge readily and encourages personal development.
- A valid driver’s license and passport.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- The position is based in Vancouver Office in with a visit to the Site Project as required.
