Our client is seeking a Planning & Scheduling Analyst

12 months contract with possibility with additional 12 months renewal. 40 hours/week. Interviews to start the week of Jan 19th. 2-3 days/week onsite.

Must Have:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within an asset-intensive environment.

• Strong working knowledge of an EAM system (IBM Maximo preferred).

• Experience working in regulated, safety-critical, or public infrastructure environments is considered an asset.

• Post-secondary education in engineering technology, maintenance management, business analysis, or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.

The Planning & Scheduling Analyst will work closely with maintenance, operations, supply chain, engineering, and finance teams to ensure work is clearly defined, appropriately prioritized, and ready for execution. This role is well suited to a self-directed professional who can quickly integrate into an established environment and deliver immediate value.

Key responsibilities include:

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

• Develop high-quality job plans for preventative, corrective, and capital maintenance activities, including task sequencing, labour estimates, materials, tools, permits, and safety requirements.

• Build and manage short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance schedules aligned to operational priorities and available capacity.

• Ensure work is fully scoped, prioritized, and ready-to-execute prior to scheduling.

• Coordinate closely with maintenance and operations leaders to resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize workforce and contractor utilization.

Asset & Performance Support

• Support maintenance strategy execution, including preventative and condition-based maintenance programs.

• Analyze backlog health, schedule compliance, and work execution performance to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

• Contribute to outage, shutdown, and major maintenance planning activities as required.

Systems, Data & Reporting

• Maintain accurate maintenance master data within the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system (e.g., IBM Maximo or equivalent).

• Ensure work order and job plan data quality supports effective planning, reporting, and decision-making.

• Produce standard and ad-hoc reports related to maintenance backlog, schedule performance, and planning effectiveness.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as a planning subject matter expert and advisor to internal stakeholders.

• Participate in and facilitate planning, scheduling, and backlog review meetings.

• Communicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints clearly and proactively.

Safety, Compliance & Governance

• Embed safety, regulatory, and permit requirements into maintenance plans.

• Ensure planning and scheduling practices align with organizational standards and procedures.

• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance planning maturity.
