SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the mining and metals sector.

We are seeking a Data Geoscientist.

We are looking for a Geologist or Engineer specializing in Geoscience Data and Analytics for our Vancouver-based Geology and Geotech team.

This team includes structural geologists, resource geologists, and rock mechanics engineers. As a consultant, your responsibilities will include executing data science projects related to mining rock mechanics and geoscience. Your work will involve data processing, analysis, and applying machine learning models across the mining lifecycle. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-value solutions to our clients.

• A postgraduate degree in a field applying advanced statistical analysis and/or machine learning to geoscience
• Experience in the mining/metals industry
• Registration as an Engineer or Geologist in Training (EIT/GIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
• Strong programming skills in scientific languages (Python, R, Julia) and frameworks like Tensor Flow and Py Torch
• A solid theoretical background with proven ability to develop practical solutions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete projects
• Willingness to participate in field investigations

• Experience with cloud computing platforms like Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency with geospatial tools (ArcGIS, QGIS) and 3D modeling software (Leapfrog)
• Experience in rock mechanics, soil mechanics, structural geology, or geostatistics
• Previous consulting experience
