The FC Gameplay team creates the most authentic, engaging and fun football simulation experiences in the world. As a Gameplay Designer you are in charge of defining, describing, documenting, communicating and verifying high quality features and content that generate those experiences for millions of players. Your knowledge of immersive experiences, interactive camera design and technical skills empower you to design and build innovative third-person gameplay experiences in collaboration with the team and following an established vision and design direction.
You will report to the Game Design Director.
You will work in a hybrid environment at our Vancouver studio.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and develop immersive experiences from concept through to release
- Design, prototype, build and polish third-person interactive camera features and content
- Effectively communicate your designs to the team
- Incorporate ideas and feedback from across the gameplay team
- Collaborate closely with programmers and animators to develop your features
- Contribute to the development of tools and processes to improve workflows
- Follow direction and justify design decisions based on a shared product vision
Who You Are:
- 3+ years of game design experience with at least one shipped AAA title
- Proven experience in designing, building and polishing third-person interactive camera systems
- Technical proficiency in 3D game engines
- Broad knowledge of game design processes, techniques and principles
- Great eye for game quality and empathy for the player
- Curiosity and willingness to research, develop and innovate
- Familiarity with football and experience playing or watching the sport as a fan
Nice to Have:
- Passion for and knowledge of the EA SPORTS™ FC video game franchise
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
