We currently have an exciting Relief Full‑Time opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor II to join our team at the Downtown Community Health Clinic located in Vancouver, BC.

Community pharmacy experience or interest, working with marginalized Mental Health & Substance Use populations required.

This position is for our Downtown Eastside group of pharmacies – Crosstown Clinic, Downtown Community Health Centre and Hope to Health Centre.

Detailed Overview

In accordance with established vision and values of the Fraser Health, the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor operates in accordance with the scope of practice and standards of practice for Pharmacy Technicians as outlined by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols. Supervises Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants and other designated staff. Performs Pharmacy Technician duties as required.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants and other designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, evaluating employee performance and determining related training and orientation requirements.
  • Participates in the recruitment process by performing duties such as screening and interviewing applicants and making recommendations to the Coordinator, Distribution Pharmacy Services or designate.
  • In collaboration with the Coordinator, Distribution Pharmacy Services or designate, oversees, implements and maintains practice standards, policies and procedures in assigned area; ensures safety practices are adhered to.
  • Oversees and monitors the quality assurance program within the assigned area.
  • Makes recommendations regarding capital equipment to support safe and effective drug distribution.
  • Arranges student placements and training schedules; participates in student education and/or evaluations as assigned.
  • Processes medication orders for distribution to a patient, client, or resident that have been clinically reviewed and approved by a pharmacist.
  • Receives prescriptions (verbal and non verbal) from practitioners and ensures that prescriptions are complete and authentic by performing duties such as verifying allergy status and/or demographics.
