Detailed OverviewThe Supervisor, Dispensary/Parenteral Services is responsible for the supervision of the dispensary, parenteral service area, ward stock and other designated areas on assigned evening/weekend shifts. Supervises designated staff; optimizes utilization of staff and other resources through monitoring of workload, workflow and performance efficiency.
Ensures that staff orientation and training objectives are attained during assigned shifts and provides feedback on shift activities to the Coordinator, Distribution Pharmacy Services or designate.
Provides input for new or revised dispensary/parenteral services related policies and procedures; participates in developing orientation programs for new staff, monitors quality assurance and performs workload measurement of tasks in assigned area; preceptors student pharmacists, pharmacy residents, pharmacy technicians and assistants and performs pharmacist functions as required.
ResponsibilitiesEducation, Training and Experience
Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
Certification of completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program supplemented by three (3) years' recent, relevant hospital pharmacy experience, including experience in teaching or supervising staff or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
