What you will be doing:
Prepare and review complex U.S. and Canadian personal income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals with cross-border tax obligations
Conduct detailed technical research and analysis on U.S., Canadian, and treaty-based tax issues (e.g., residency determinations, treaty tie-breaker rules, sourcing rules, FTC optimization)
Identify and assess client-specific tax planning opportunities and exposures; proactively escalate to managers/partners as appropriate
Liaise directly with clients, and internal engagement teams
Act as primary point of contact for assigned client files, managing communications, information requests, and project timelines
Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing coaching, feedback, and technical support
Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing (e.g., prepare technical briefs, update templates, lead training sessions)
Support continuous improvement efforts (e.g., process documentation, automation tools, template refinement)
What you must have:
Canadian or US CPA designation (or in final stages of completion) or US Enrolled Agent
Minimum 3–4 years of experience in public practice, with exposure to U.S. and/or cross-border tax
Strong technical knowledge of tax principles, with an eagerness to grow cross-border expertise
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence in managing client relationships and working in a team-based environment
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Salary/Rate Range: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00
