Position: Hiring a Junior Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to Work in a Boutique Law Firm

Our client is one of Vancouver’s premier boutique commercial law and litigation firms and they are seeking a legal administrative assistant to work in their litigation team. The successful candidate will report to a Senior Litigation Paralegal and it is a great position for those who are passionate about the legal field and possess the required skills.

Responsibilities but are not limited to:

  • Assist with preparation of court forms and pleadings and file documentation.
  • Provide dictation and transcribe legal and other correspondence into written documents.
  • Schedule hearings, discoveries, trials, and mediations; liaise with counsel.
  • Assemble records and binders for court appearances.
  • Conduct online searches (Court Services Online, BCOnline, Land Title Office).
  • Manage legal files (opening/closing), handle client calls and perform general administrative tasks.
  • Prepare accounts, track receivables, and process accounting forms.
  • Draft and respond to correspondence.
  • Provide support for the Litigation Department as well as legal administrative needs throughout the firm.
  • Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of legal administrative experience, preferably within a law firm or legal environment.
  • Proficient understanding of court documentation and legal procedures.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); familiarity with PC Law, Net Docs, and iPro Eclipse considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated strength in organization, communication, and technical aptitude.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume workloads with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with sound judgment and the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • The salary range for this position is between $54, – $58, per annum.
