Lead Hand

The Lead hand is generally responsible for customer service to patrons and maintaining the cleanliness of the building and common areas and exterior areas and responding to daily cleaning requirements and service requests based on end user traffic patterns through the building space.

Duties:

Daily

• Sweeping, mopping, garbage collection & other cleaning responsibilities
• Check in with staff and check on their routine and ensure outstanding work order completion
• Walk the site and perform inspections and attend to any outstanding requests
• Check in with Site Manager and report duties and work order completion and follow up on outstanding work orders
• Plan and assess outstanding work order completion and follow up on schedule/timeline
• Assist team members to meet their assigned area cleanliness standards
• Maintain storage areas, cleaning equipment, materials and supplies in a safe, tidy and healthy manner
• Review daily cleaning and washroom logs for completion. Follow up on any issues or anything outstanding
• Perform hands on work in all departments:
  Day Porter, Food court, Exterior cleaning and garbage removal duties
• Operate walk behind and stand on scrubbers.

Weekly

• Ensure schedule is communicated to the cleaning staff and staff are aware of any shift changes
• Perform supply count, stock and inventory, and pars level
• Report minor maintenance repairs
• Weekly site inspection of areas for cleanliness and quality

Monthly

• Meet with Site Manager for an in-depth review of site operations and personal development

Periodic

• Train and onboard new hires
• Other duties assigned by the Site Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Drivers License
• 2 years of previous cleaning experience
• Basic English verbal and reading skills
• Ability to work outside in varying conditions
• Positive and proactive attitude
• Service-oriented approach
• Ability to adhere to safety requirements
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.
