Position: Registered Nurse (Temporary Full-Time) Victory House
JOB SUMMARY
:
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to residents of Supportive Housing according to established policies and procedures including assessing total physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial needs; planning, documenting and implementing care plans; evaluating effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for changes where necessary.
EDUCATION/PREVIOUS
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from practicing school of nursing with 2 year’s nursing experience.Current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).Current occupational first aid and CPR certification.Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Course required.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.Ability to perform nursing assessments and provide care for people with chronic mental health concerns.Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in care planning to promote quality clinical practice.Demonstrated ability to direct, delegate, and manage a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment.Provide guidance, mentorship, and clinical support to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to ensure safe, high-quality care.Ability to foster a working environment of collaboration, skill, collegiality, and enthusiasm.Ability to take initiative and work with minimal amount of supervision.Ability to work in a stressful and changing work environment.Ability to organize work and set priorities.Ability to operate related equipment and to maintain skill levels in areas such as pain-control and treatments, wound care and general management of chronic conditions.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to empathize and work with people who may have experienced abuse, poverty, grief and loss, oppression, violence, mental health challenges, and/or addictions issues, and/or those who may be living with HIV/AIDS or other life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.Please submit your application via email to careers with the job posting number in the subject line.
