Key Responsibilities and Other Duties:

The employee duties include but are not limited to:

• Manning lab early in morning at least once a week between 3AM to 7AM.
• Take charge in learning the process and procedures, executed for ensuring quality assurance and safety of sugar and food products.
• Collecting samples throughout the refinery and returning them to the lab for analysis.
• Assist on sampling and analysis of raw material, raw sugar, incoming molasses, and starch
• Assist on sampling and analysis of in-process materials such as blending syrup, molasses, and white sugar.
• Support on collection, analysis and documentation for final products.
• Support in fulfilling customer requirements and requests in respect of quality, regulatory, and other standards.
• Check on samples of white sugar, soft sugar, icing, cubes, syrups, liquid sugar, Rogers Golden Syrup.
• Checking qualitative and quantitative sediments of in-line and final products.
• Assist on creating report and analysis of projects.
• Assist in data input and management of documentation for release of COA and Weekly Sugar Quality Report.
• Cleaning, equipment calibration and maintaining lab to ensure precise and accurate results.
• Assist on environmental sampling and testing to ensure that the company adheres to environmental norms
• Any and all other tasks as and when required.

Academic and Professional Prerequisites

• Student of Food Science and Nutrition preferred or related Science field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Laboratory and food safety work experience in a laboratory is an asset.
