We’re looking for a versatile, persistent product engineer who’s not afraid to set up reusable building blocks across the stack and advocate for the time and space to do so. At Ashby, all engineers ship features end‑to‑end at a high pace. We’ll give you the room to do your best work and you’ll guide the team.

About the Role and How We WorkWe strive to recreate the environments where we did our best work as ICs—ownership, agency, and the freedom to impact users with creative, innovative software. I built products for visual‑effects artists, handled product management and design, and learned to be the kind of engineer that thrives in minimal process environments. I value engineers who own their projects end‑to‑end.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and ship product features end-to-end, taking ownership of the entire lifecycle (from research to production).
- Research and understand customer pain points, write product specs, create wireframes, and iterate through prototypes.
- Maintain and extend reusable building blocks (e.g., declarative filter architecture, automated interview scheduling, signing‑off flows).
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers, collaborating on decisions, balancing speed and quality.
- Drive implementation, but also mentor less experienced engineers, guide architectural decisions, and influence technical direction.
We’re building high‑quality TA software that helps recruiters schedule candidates quickly, track interview load, and automate tasks. For example, our automated interview scheduling feature calculates possible interview times and presents candidates with options—all within a responsive web app.

Our process focuses on problem solving, product thinking, and technical design. We avoid Leet Code or whiteboard exercises.
