• Develop best‑in‑class applications for in‑vehicle user experience, with a focus on mission‑critical user interfaces
• Create progressive, intuitive, and reliable applications for the Rivian in‑vehicle experience
• Collaborate with the UX/UI Team and Studio Team to realize beautiful, cutting‑edge UI and seamless integration with 2D and 3D content
• Test the in‑vehicle experience in the lab and in Rivian prototype vehicles
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues found during testing
• Help drive research into new technologies and interfaces
• Collaborate with other divisions in understanding and sharing technology roadmaps, portfolios, and intellectual property

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience with software development life cycle experience, from requirements gathering through to implementation and maintenance
• 7+ years of experience with any of the following: C++, Rust, Java or Kotlin

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the Functional Safety requirements, regulatory compliance, and best practices for automotive software development
• Experience with Android application frameworks
• Experience with Android Automotive Operating System (AAOS)
• Experience with Qt, including Qt Safe Renderer, in an automotive environment
• Deep understanding of user‑friendly, immersive, reactive user interface development

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for British Columbia Based Applicants: 174,200 CAD - 217,800 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full‑time and part‑time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full‑time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part‑time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
