Software QA at Avigilon Alta is the quality function behind our cloud-managed access control and video security platform - products trusted by enterprise customers to secure their people, sites, and operations. The team partners with 8 product engineering teams to ensure every release meets the reliability bar our customers depend on, owning test strategy, automation, release validation, and defect prevention end-to-end.

We operate on an "Automation First" model. Our Playwright/Type Script web automation suite is wired directly into CI/CD, and we invest heavily in modern tooling - AI-assisted test generation, self-healing locators, and visual regression - so coverage scales with product growth rather than headcount. That leverage frees the team to spend human judgment where it matters most: exploratory testing, acceptance validation on high-risk features, and the customer-facing flows where automation has the lowest ROI.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will be a primary driver of our "Automation First" strategy. This role is weighted heavily toward technical development (70% Automation / 30% Manual), focusing on building robust, scalable frameworks for our web and mobile ecosystems. You will leverage modern tools like Playwright, WebDriverIO, and Appium 2.0 while actively integrating Generative AI tools to optimize our testing lifecycle.

• Automation Framework Development (70%):
  Design and maintain end-to-end automation suites for web applications using Playwright and Type Script.
• Architect mobile automation for iOS and Android using WebDriverIO + Appium 2.0.
• Develop and scale automation for managing large-scale device fleets, focusing on firmware stability and edge-to-cloud connectivity.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, high-quality deployments.
• AI Implementation & Strategy:
  Implement AI-driven testing tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini) to enhance script maintenance, generate synthetic test data, and enable self-healing test suites.
• Utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate test case generation and automate the transformation of manual test steps into Type Script code.
• Explore AI for visual regression testing to ensure UI consistency across various mobile screen sizes and web browsers.
• Manual & Exploratory Testing (30%):
  Conduct high-impact manual testing for complex new features, including smoke, sanity, and user-centric acceptance testing.
• Perform rigorous exploratory testing on physical hardware integrations and mobile-specific hardware triggers (NFC, BLE).
