- Troubleshoots equipment on the manufacturing shop floor as necessary to support production (CNC Machine, PLC Controls and Robotics), process problems to complete quality improvements as required.
- Knowledge of current industrial electrical standards (NEC, NFPA 79).
- Ability to create and modify electrical drawings (AutoCAD), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams and schematics when required.
- Assist with mechanical repairs as needed.
- Perform PM inspections as required.
- Follow Maintenance Manager and Team Leaders direction and task prioritization.
- Knowledge of manufacturing facility power distribution systems a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Familiarity with Siemens, and Allen-Bradley PLC controls.
- Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot industrial networks (Device Net, Ethernet
IP). - Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot machine safety circuits and applications.
- Understanding of VFD, DC and Servo Drive systems.
- Familiar with Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex).
- Previous experience and exposure to robotics (ABB, Fanuc).
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, schematic design specification and update drawings as required.
- Wiring and panel building experience.
- Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic Technician or similar Engineering degree/diploma/certificate or Trades Qualification
- 2 years’ experience working in an automotive tier 1 or tier 2 company.
- Having experience with plant startups and major product launches is a plus.
- Metal forming/joining/machining, and CNC machining knowledge, an asset (turning, milling, drilling, tapping, gear hobbing, grinding, shaving, spline rolling, heat treating, OD and , laser and CD welding).
- PLC/HMI programming and maintenance to support production.
- Sound knowledge and ability to use various PC based computer applications
- Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English
