Senior Process Engineer – WSP Canada

About the RoleWSP is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead the process discipline on projects ranging from conceptual studies to detailed engineering of large mega projects. The role is based in Calgary, Edmonton, or Ontario and will be part of our growing Energy & Process division.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the process discipline on projects, managing client relationships and ensuring project quality, budget and schedule targets are met.
- Communicate and coordinate with team members, WSP groups, equipment vendors, clients and sub‑contractors.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, process schematics and layout drawings, reviewing deliverables produced by junior and intermediate colleagues.
- Select process and technology, size equipment, conduct mass balance, hydraulic analysis and 3D layout review, reviewing analysis and design by junior and intermediate colleagues.
- Mentor and train junior and intermediate colleagues.
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects, including project resource management, personal time management and providing project support for other senior staff.
- Support the management team with budgeting, strategy development and execution, staff reviews and delivering training programs.
- Primarily hybrid‑based consulting engineering work with some business travel and fieldwork opportunities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 12+ years of experience as a process engineer within a consulting environment; previous experience as a Lead is an asset.
- Experience in oil and gas (gas processing), hydrogen and carbon capture facilities.
- Current P.Eng license in your province of residence.
- Experience with HYSIS or Promax software packages is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain client relationships.
