Director of Engineering

Overview  Director of Engineering and Delivery s is a full-time position reporting to the CTO and coordinating with global delivery teams in Canada and India. The role leads development teams and requires a passionate technologist with solid application design fundamentals for clients, servers, and middle tiers, with a focus on the latest web, mobile, and cloud technologies.
You will work to deliver high-quality, agile solutions and take pride in quality and delivery velocity.
Delivery Capability and Responsibilities   Lead complex design sessions and collaborate with customers and business partners to establish requirements and develop solutions.
Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for technical and business suitability.
Provide expertise to customers to develop digital solutions that meet identified business needs.
Support solution delivery by assisting programmers and guiding implementation practices.
Guide concepts of unit testing, system testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing.
Define software development plans (scoping, scheduling, implementation) and apply project management concepts as needed.
Make key decisions on platform selection, code quality, and development strategy for the team.
Develop processes to organize workflow for output quality, precision, and timeliness.
Manage multiple demands and priorities while ensuring deliverables are met.
Prepare accurate estimates for development tasks and validate estimates from others.
Provide leadership, including technical mentoring, architecture validation, and support for team members.
Collaborate with HR and Recruitment to support talent acquisition, career planning, onboarding, assignments, and mentoring.
Leadership   Strategic and analytical thinker with a big-picture approach to system and application design based on business requirements.
Experience managing end-to-end projects, evaluating vendors, budgeting, resource allocation, and communicating progress.
Results-driven with a focus on optimizing technical performance and cost, timing, and impact on business processes.
Strong decision-making skills and ability to pivot based on metrics and changing needs.
Excellent interpersonal and mentoring skills to elevate team performance.
Capability to plan and present strategic recommendations to C-level audiences and cross-functional teams.
Research competitive landscape to differentiate digital solutions and influence customer strategy based on analysis.
Requirements   15+ years of experience in engineering and delivery roles.
Expert knowledge and experience with MS Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud platforms.
