Quality Systems Specialist

Overview

Our automotive client in the Concord/Vaughan area is looking for a Quality Systems Specialist with hands‑on experience in IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OEM/Tier 1 customer audits (Ford, Stellantis, GM, BMW). If you’re a certified internal auditor for both standards (IATF & ISO 14001) and want to work in a high‑impact, high‑visibility role—this is your next career move.

What You’ll Do:
  • Maintain, enhance, and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
  • Plan, lead, and document internal audits, ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Keep system procedures accurate, effective, and compliant with ISO, IATF, customer, and corporate requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the internal auditor qualification matrix.
  • Lead and report on Layered Process Audits (LPAs), ensuring timely completion and communicating weekly non‑conformances to management.
  • Coordinate and support external audits (IATF, ISO 14001) and OEM customer audits including CQI‑15, CQI‑14, VDA 6.3, Ford Q1, China CQC.
  • Maintain all certificates in customer portals and ensure compliance with CQC requirements.
  • Track and close all audit findings through effective RCA and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Own controlled documentation, ensuring timely updates and regulatory accuracy.
  • Lead monthly KMI meetings, annual risk/opportunity reviews, significant aspect reviews, and emergency preparedness sessions.
  • Act as a liaison among quality, production, engineering, and customer teams.
  • Provide backup support for Warranty Engineering.
What You Bring:
  • MUST BE Certified Internal Auditor for:
    • IATF 16949 (required)
    • ISO 14001 (required)
  • Experience with OEM or Tier 1 audits
  • Strong understanding of quality and environmental compliance, customer requirements, and automotive assessments (CQI, VDA, etc.)
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for structure, accuracy, and continuous improvement
