Civil Engineer - Roads & Drainage | Wakefield | Flexible Working | Career Growth

Are you a Civil Engineer passionate about designing roads and drainage systems for development projects? Join our client's dynamic team in Wakefield and work on diverse residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across the UK, contributing to sustainable infrastructure with high-quality design solutions.

What you'll be doing:
  • Design highways, junctions, and drainage infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Micro Drainage/Info Drainage.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations for planning and technical approvals.
  • Collaborate with architects, planners, and structural engineers for integrated design solutions.
  • Support planning submissions and technical approvals (Sections 38, 278, and 104).
  • Contribute to flood risk assessments (FRAs) and sustainable drainage (SuDS) strategies.
  • Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the team.
    • What we're looking for:
  • A degree (BEng, BSc, or MSc) in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience in designing roads and drainage for UK development projects.
  • Knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, and local authority standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Drainage (or Info Drainage).
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
