Senior Support Worker - Male

Carlton House is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join their team. This is a full‑time role.

£13.40 per hour

Day shifts: 08:00 - 20:00 (4 shifts per week) on a rota to include weekend working.

Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we are looking to recruit male workers for this particular role.

Carlton House is located in Rothwell Haigh, near Leeds. It offers residential support for 10 male residents, including those on the autism spectrum or with a learning disability. Carlton Cottage, which is immediately adjacent, offers support for a further six people, and has an all‑male staff team. Our team are dedicated to working with each individual we support on a person‑centred basis to create and achieve goals to meet their own expectations.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day‑to‑day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

You will have gained experience in a similar setting, supervising and leading others. While a formal qualification is not required, you should be willing to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team Leadership and Management with Priory.

• Supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support your peers with their performance and professional development
• Lead support planning and act as point of contact in the absence of site leadership
• Assist with the management of site petty cash and client funds
• Support with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
• Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
• Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
• Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
• Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well‑being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
• Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
• Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
