Veterinary Surgeon

£5,000 Welcome Bonus. Standalone practice. Salary up to £80,000

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Wakefield Vets for Pets.

Our purpose‑built standalone surgery is situated in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, only 20 minutes from Leeds and with the Yorkshire Dales on your doorstep. We offer the bright lights of the city, great local amenities and easy access to the open spaces and beaches of the Yorkshire countryside.

Being on the junction of the M1 and M62 provides an ideal base to explore the country by car, and we are only 2 hours from London’s main train line and 3.5 hours to Edinburgh. We ensure you have a work/life balance to enjoy it.

Our surgery boasts state‑of‑the‑art equipment, including a corneal diamond burr, a high‑spec ultrasound and surgical instruments for orthopaedic and complex soft‑tissue procedures, as well as endoscopic equipment for laparoscopic operations.

This position offers fully flexible hours, full or part time, with no out‑of‑hours or late nights. You’ll work some Saturday mornings on a fair rota shared with the team, but we are open to suggestions. We look for an experienced vet comfortable with sole charge and all routine medical and surgical cases that general practice presents.
