Your role and responsibilities
  • Perform all levels of geotechnical testing on soil and rock samples to the highest standards.
  • Ensure high‑quality data delivery by accurately recording and calculating test results using spreadsheets and digital tools.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure all equipment is functioning optimally for precise testing outcomes.
  • Collaborate with team leaders to ensure timely completion of testing projects and raise concerns proactively.
  • Assist in processing and reviewing test data before client submission.
  • Uphold Fugro’s commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Support the lab’s ISO 17025 accreditation by maintaining rigorous quality standards.
  • Contribute to innovation by helping develop new testing methods and participating in R&D initiatives.
What You’ll Need To Thrive In This Role
  • General education including 5+ GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills with proficiency in Excel and other data tools.
  • Passion for learning and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Previous laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.
