We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our production team in North Tyneside. This is a hands-on role assembling large steel fabrications and hydraulic systems, working from engineering drawings to deliver high-quality builds in a heavy engineering environment. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly and build of complex mechanical and hydraulic systems. Working closely with the production team, you’ll be responsible for assembling large-scale steel fabrications and hydraulic equipment, including cylinders and operating systems, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety, accuracy and quality.
You’ll be expected to work confidently from engineering drawings and parts lists, applying both technical knowledge and practical skills to complete builds in line with production schedules. A strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems is essential, along with proven experience in heavy engineering assembly.
We’re looking for someone with an HNC qualification or equivalent practical experience, who can demonstrate excellent decision-making ability, attention to detail and a proactive approach. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a safe, efficient and professional working environment.
