We’re working with a leading design and manufacturing business and due to growth and upcoming high-value projects, they’re looking to add a Production Design Engineer to their expanding Engineering Design team.

Job Description

Lead product and electrical design projects, applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to deliver efficient, high-quality, and compliant engineering solutions.
Drive new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production, ensuring right-first-time delivery and smooth handover to manufacturing.
Produce and maintain CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to reduce cost, boost productivity, and enhance process performance through Lean, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.
Maintain exceptional quality and safety standards, supporting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

3+ years of experience in this role or a similar role
Strong electrical design bias.
Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, Solid Works Electrical, or similar).
Experience applying DFM principles in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
