About The Role

Children’s Residential Support Worker

We are looking for Children’s Residential Support Workers who care about making every moment matter for the children and young people, regardless of qualifications or experience.

Location: Walsall (WS4)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shifts: 3 weeks nights, 1 week days (rotation)

Job type: Permanent

Driving licence is essential for this role.

The role

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower young people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone's individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

  • To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the children and young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
  • General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as, possibly, elements of personal care.
  • As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

The role involves working days and nights on a rota basis.

About The Service

Bluebell House is a brand new 6 bedded children’s home in Walsall, which provides support for children with a learning disability and/ or physical disability.

The home has a multitude of breakout spaces, including 2 activity rooms, a sensory room and two lounge spaces for if the children choose to have time alone. All bedrooms have en-suits and bedrooms will be personalised and decorated with the children’s voice being the centre on these decisions, upon admission.

Our aim is to ensure the children we will support will have their voice heard and acted upon, to enable them to live their best potential and outcomes.
