Role Overview – CNC Setter/Operator

Our client, a leading name in precision engineering within the aerospace sector, is seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) to join their team. This role involves setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components in line with customer specifications and technical drawings. You will play a key role in maximising stock utilisation, minimising waste, and ensuring adherence to strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities – CNC Setter/Operator

Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce components to precise customer and drawing specifications.
Handle materials safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Maximise stock utilisation and minimise waste through accurate setup and cutting techniques.
Maintain accurate records on the computer-based stock control system and supporting documentation.
Ensure all products are clearly identified in accordance with company and customer requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Assist in training other operatives to build team capability.
Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and tidy working environment.
Key Experience & Qualifications – CNC Setter/Operator

Proven experience in setting and operating CNC milling machines within a precision engineering or aerospace environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret cutting patterns to optimise stock usage and minimise waste.
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and their practical application in a machining environment.
Understanding of quality processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
PC literate (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and stock control systems).
Self-motivated, diligent, analytical, and numerate with a focus on quality and precision.
Current valid counterbalance mechanical handling license.
Machine maintenance skills relevant to CNC milling equipment.
Ability to be trained as a business-approved stamp holder.
