Account Manager Sales

Salary: £33k-£37k Basic dependent on experience. Includes pension, healthcare and profit share.

Hours:

Full‑time Monday to Friday, mainly office‑based with potential for occasional customer/prospect visits.

WP Metals Limited is one of the UK’s leading steel stockholders, supplying mild steel tube for piling, industrial doors and general engineering. We offer a comprehensive stockholding and nationwide delivery service and are looking for a proactive account manager to join our tight‑knit sales team based in Aldridge.

• Provide a friendly, accurate and professional service at all times.
• Perform detailed contract review and accurately interpret customer requirements.
• Accurately enter sales orders into the ERP system.
• Develop existing territory by improving revenue and profit generated.
• Source and develop opportunities that result in new repeat business.
• Focus 70/30 between account management and business development.
• Maintain accurate records within a CRM system.
• Research new markets and compile lists of prospects.
• Achieve KPIs as agreed with the managing director.
• Support the sales effort in line with overall business objectives.

• Natural communicator, able to build rapport and create lasting customer relationships over the phone.
• Strong numeracy with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Determined, persistent, positive and self‑motivated.
• Quick learner, logical thinker, well organised.
• At least 2 years of account management experience, ideally in a B2B role using CRM software.
• Strong IT skills – Office 365 (Outlook/Excel/Word).

• Experience in engineering, construction or metals.
