Full-Time | Agency | Hybrid Working Walsall Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care (CIC) team , providing high-quality support to vulnerable children and young people in care. Key Responsibilities Manage a varied caseload of Looked After Children in foster care, residential placements, or at home Undertake statutory visits , ensuring care and pathway plans are progressing effectively Conduct assessments, risk analysis , and care planning in line with safeguarding legislation Coordinate and participate in care planning meetings, reviews, PEPs, and placement stability meetings Collaborate with parents, carers, guardians, and multi-agency professionals to secure positive outcomes Maintain accurate case records, reports, and documentation according to council policies Provide guidance and support to children and families to promote resilience and independence Participate in the team's duty system as required Requirements Qualified Social Worker (Degree/Diploma in Social Work) Social Work England registration Experience in Children in Care services , including foster care and residential placements Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding legislation, and statutory duties Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills Ability to manage a complex caseload while delivering high-quality practice Commitment to positive outcomes for children and young people in care We are seeking experienced Social Workers with a background in Children in Care (CIC) , Looked After Children services , or fostering and residential care .
