Instrument Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for an Instrument Technician to work at the Wytch Farm facility near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. The role involves maintaining and testing instrument related equipment and systems to ensure efficient, reliable and safe operation of our production facility.

Rotational: 4 × 10.5‑hour shifts – 06:45/17:15, starting alternately on Monday or Tuesday. Project and shutdown schedules may change and overtime may be required.

• Work within a multi‑disciplined team to safely operate and maintain the Wytch Farm oilfield, maximising plant availability in processing oil from our well sites.
• Perform maintenance using company standards and procedures.
• Complete scheduled and breakdown maintenance on:
  • Safety, Fire & Gas, Flow Measurement Systems
  • Pressure, Temperature and Level Control
  • DCS Systems
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems
• Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures.
• Complete Maximo work orders and generate new requests to highlight plant and equipment failure.
• Raise permits within the agreed time period to ensure efficient maintenance.
• Assist with projects, working with vendors and sub‑contractors as required.
• Comply with Change Management policies (Plant Modifications Proposals).
• Use Perenco Observation Safety Techniques (POST) to report safe/unsafe acts.
• Participate in responsible waste management.
• Attend Operations shift meetings.
• Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.

There are a number of safety critical tasks that you will be made aware of and systems you will be required to competently operate.

• Accredited apprenticeship or HNC equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry is desirable; related industry experience considered.
• Experience with ATEX equipment (Compex Trained) desirable but not essential.
