Role Overview:
As a Maintenance Engineer
, you will provide both reactive and preventative maintenance support for night shift production operations. You will be a key member of the Engineering team, supporting operational efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement across all production lines. The Maintenance Engineer will ensure that equipment runs reliably and that health, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.

• Maintain a safe working environment and promote a culture of safety by demonstrating safe behavior and managing health & safety for engineering staff and contractors.

• Conduct and action Health and Safety risk assessments.

• Organize and monitor compliance with statutory Health and Safety requirements across the site.

• Support the Engineering Manager in planning, agreeing, and monitoring maintenance expenditure to meet performance targets within budget.

• Provide reactive maintenance support to minimize production downtime.

• Ensure engineering spares and consumables are properly stocked and managed.

• Follow a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) program to maximize operational efficiency.

• Continuously measure engineering performance against budget and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

• Support automation and improvement projects to reduce labor costs and improve operational efficiency.

• Ensure that all required customer and quality standards are achieved and maintained.

• Minimum three years of experience in an FMCG or chilled production environment.

• Qualified to at least HNC level in an engineering or electrical discipline.

• Proven experience with online preventative maintenance software.

• Apprenticeship trained and tested.

• Experience dealing with external service providers and regulatory bodies.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment while delivering objectives efficiently.
