Project Manager; Civils

Job Title

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager from a civils construction background to lead the successful delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects. The role requires full responsibility for project planning, commercial performance, health & safety, and client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Take full ownership of multiple or large-scale civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to handover
• Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans
• Ensure works are delivered in line with contract requirements, specifications, and drawings
• Manage project risks, opportunities, and change control processes

• Oversee cost control, forecasting, and reporting in conjunction with commercial teams
• Manage variations, valuations, and final accounts
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions (NEC / JCT experience preferred)

• Lead and promote a strong health & safety culture across all sites
• Ensure compliance with all HSEQ policies, RAMS, and statutory requirements
• Drive quality assurance processes and ensure right-first-time delivery

• Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business
• Chair progress meetings and provide clear, accurate reporting to senior management

• Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Site Managers, and Engineers
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient site operations
• Drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager within civils construction
• Strong background with a civil engineering contractor or main contractor
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies and sequencing
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex programmes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

• HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)
• CSCS (Black or Gold preferred)
• First Aid at Work
• NEC contract experience (highly desirable)
