Overview

At Jacobs we are driving the UK’s biggest water transformation, delivering end‑to‑end engineering solutions for pumping stations, treatment plants, and distribution networks. As part of our UK team you will design, deliver, and commission high‑value, sustainable electrical solutions that protect water resources and enhance resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or support electrical engineering activities from concept through completion, collaborating with project managers, JV partners, and clients.
  • Design and produce detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations for water sector projects.
  • Ensure constructability, commissioning requirements, and safety standards are embedded in all designs.
  • Support design managers and site installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Investigate existing assets to recommend improvements in reliability, performance, and safety.
  • Participate in value‑engineering workshops, delivering innovative, buildable solutions.
  • Contribute to design management, scheduling, risk control, and financial forecasting where required.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, mentoring, and professional growth within the electrical discipline.
Qualifications
  • Working toward or holding chartered status (e.g., IEEE) or equivalent.
  • Progressive experience in detailed design and Design & Build solutions for water, wastewater, and bioresources projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles and project life cycles from concept to commissioning.
  • Proficiency with CAD and electrical design packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, etc.
  • Commercial awareness – understanding of budgets, change control, and cost management.
