Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer - Identity & Access

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll join our Design & Build team—the projects arm of IT Infrastructure at Sunbelt Rentals. Reporting to the Senior IT Infrastructure Architect, you’ll work on a wide range of infrastructure projects, from discovery through to delivery, and provide technical expertise across the business. While each engineer will have a specialist area, you’ll also be expected to contribute to projects and support across all aspects of our IT Infrastructure.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues in End User Computing, Security, and Development teams, supporting both on-premises and cloud environments. Our team is moving towards greater cloud governance and Infrastructure as Code, and you’ll play a key role in this transformation.

This is a permanent full time position.

• Design, implement, and support IT infrastructure solutions (on-premises and cloud) to meet business needs.
• Lead and deliver projects, ensuring alignment with IT strategy and business objectives.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your specialism, providing guidance and mentoring to colleagues.
• Recommend and implement improvements, including in response to security trends and incidents.
• Support the development and implementation of IT strategy and roadmap.
• Train and mentor team members across Infrastructure Support and End User Computing.
• Provide technical support to Development teams, especially for our Sunbelt 4.0 digital transformation programme.
• Collaborate with the Security team and End User Computing on best practice design, configuration and any complex infrastructure aspects of their implementation.
• Be flexible to work on projects or support in any area of IT Infrastructure as required.
