Overview
Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Specialist, the Nursing Associate is responsible for providing highly skilled support to the Clinical Nurse Specialist including nurse‑led clients on their caseload in the community supported by Cera Care. The Nursing Associate will work with people of all ages in a variety of settings and will deliver hands‑on person‑centered care. The role involves overseeing the placement of the right staff to the right nurse‑led client to deliver a professional and safe service, incorporating Cera Care policy on patient safety and risk management;
ensuring nurse‑lead clients receive evidence‑based nursing supervised care; risk‑assessing clients’ needs and assisting in devising individual, holistic, detailed care plans that are regularly evaluated; contributing to a national on‑call rota (for advice only and cover for colleagues); developing relationships throughout the multidisciplinary teams; and working alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialist in ongoing business development.
- General Standards: conduct regular face‑to‑face home visits to supervise and ensure evidence‑based care is delivered by carers.
- Support individuals, their families and carers when faced with unwelcome news and life‑changing diagnoses.
- Perform and record clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respirations and pulse.
- Discuss and share information with the Clinical Nurse Specialist about a client’s condition, behaviour, activity and responses.
- Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is maintained at all times.
- Recognise safeguarding issues relating to vulnerable children and adults and know when to elevate.
- Work collaboratively with members of the clinical team, operational staff and branch staff to ensure effective communication, monitor, review and update current nurse‑led clients in a timely manner as discussed with the Clinical Services Manager.
- Provide clinical advice and support where appropriate to all branch and care staff regarding complex clients.
- Train and assess carers and nurses working within your clinical caseload; additional training may be required for other areas of the company on an ad‑hoc basis and must be managed in your clinical training workload.
- Attend all mandatory training and updates; ensure the Company policy is implemented within the area of responsibility, including using judgment to correct standards of conduct or behaviour that could be construed as harassment and reminding staff of these standards.
- Be aware of your own individual responsibilities and boundaries regarding customer quality, safety and care experience.
- Have a strong awareness of clinical governance and its effect on practice; actively promote the understanding and awareness of the need for clinical governance in the day‑to‑day running of the business.
- Maintain a minimum of 1 year’s experience in acute/complex settings.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Flexible approach to working hours and practices.
- Must be a car driver with own transport.
