About the Role

National Energy System Operator (NESO) sits at the heart of the UK’s energy transition, aiming to produce first of their kinds strategic energy plans across generation, transmission and distribution. NESO’s vision is to provide a future where everyone has access to reliable, clean and affordable energy; our work will be a catalyst for change across the global community.

The Electricity Network Programme Management team sits within the Strategic Energy Planning directorate, aiming to produce GB’s first Centralised Strategic Network Plan (CSNP), setting out the future of GB’s energy networks. We currently require an additional administration role to provide support to the managers and team in the development and delivery of the CSNP project.

The successful candidate will work in collaboration with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, and alongside another admin support role, to ensure that all required administration support for the CSNP project is implemented.

This role can be based from Wokingham, Warwick or Glasgow and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

Key Accountabilities
  • Organise internal and external meetings and manage diaries for the managers and team.
  • Arrange and provide effective events management to the Electricity Networks team.
  • Responsible for all processes to onboard and offboard members of the team.
  • Maintenance and development of the Electricity Network SharePoint site, Teams Channels and Distribution Lists.
  • Assisting with the raising of Purchase Orders and the payment of invoices, ensuring both are authorised and processed in accordance with procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the CSNP team to contribute to the successful delivery of the CSNP - including booking meetings, communications, raising IT and Business Service tickets and analysis as required.
  • Provide support to the Business Continuity Lead with tasks related to business continuity, business impact analysis and resilience.

  • Passionate and proactive in providing an excellent standard of administration support to teams and managers.
  • Experience of business processes and systems associated with administration management, including finance and procurement.
  • Strong experience of liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of business requirements.
  • Solid experience of using MS Office systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
  • Strong communicator with excellent writing skills.
Qualifications

Essential (at appointment): A good standard of education is required, including ‘O’ level /GCSE (or equivalents) to include Maths and English.

Essential:
Proficiency in all the main Microsoft packages.

Desirable:
Understanding of and/or experience of working in the energy sector.

Desirable:
Experience of National Grid or NESO business processes and systems.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary from circa £36,000 to £40,000 – dependent on experience and capability.
