Warwick District Council Housing Services invites applications for a Permanent Maintenance Surveyor (Grade

F). This role calls for 37 hours per week and offers a competitive salary of £31,022 to £33,699 per annum.

Our team prioritises training, flexible working and a healthy work–life balance. You will mainly work from home but will also attend council offices or sites in Warwick District as required.

Job Purpose

As part of the Asset Management team, your main responsibility is to inspect homes and land, order repair and void works, and manage work orders in line with council schedules and legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Seek appropriate quotations where required.
  • Agree variations to orders raised.
  • Undertake surveys to maintain and update council stock condition information.
  • Perform post‑inspections after repairs or void works to verify completion to standard.
  • Provide information, guidance and written reports where necessary.
  • Liaise with Technical and Compliance teams to ensure the maintenance of council homes meets the Decent Homes Standard.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential to liaise with customers, clients and contractors; ensure work is undertaken and completed on-time and delivers value for money.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must have a relevant qualification in a trade related discipline such as an HNC in Building Studies, NVQ Level 2 in Construction and Building or a Certificate & Guilds qualification, or significant experience in a relevant building trade.

Knowledge of housing repair standards and legislation (e.g. Right to Repair, Decent Homes Standard/HHSRS) and experience with a schedule of rates and software‑based work order systems would be highly advantageous.
